No option. I need to collect URLs to get them
further processed. Moreover, I can't ensure, that
a proxy is available on the target system.

Meanwhile, I found out, that 'the proxy' protocol
is very simple. Thus, some line of my HTTP-Server
socket connection should work immediately.

Take a look at the proxies in Linux, they are all open source.
There are even distro's that do nothing but router/proxy. You can boot them from a Live CD.
I use IPCOP, which is a nice thing as a personal firewall / proxy.
(I did install it to HD)
