Hah -- true, because events can't be overridden anyway. It's as if I
complained about the transmission on my car being faulty, and you
point out that if I were to walk everywhere, transmission problems
wouldn't occur. It's true, but not relevant to the point.
Events are the preferred means of class extension.
There are a couple of corner cases where it is appropriate to use
Method Overriding (particularly implementing return type
covariance), but best practice OOP programming with REALbasic
involves so little use of Method Overriding that I would rather see
time spent elsewhere.
I disagree with this. I like walking as much as the next guy, but I
often have the need to drive too.
