Hi Erick,

I've done this via method b), and it's really not that much of a pain.  One
session of sitting down with the rotate tool in Photoshop and automating the
export process, and you're done.  I found that 72 graphics made for a smooth
rotate - one for every 5 degrees.  My class stores the actual angle even
more accurately, and just uses the closest angle graphic when rendering.

Works well if you want a true knob "turning" effect.

Unfortunately, I'm a little wary of sharing the class or graphics - last
time I shared something like this (it was some iTunes parsing classes in the
previous case), a competitor (quite legitimately and fairly) integrated them
into his app, so I don't really want to do the same again :-(
