ok,
but i use realbasic to make abstraction of that "implementation
details".
i would consider it as a bug if other applications like textedit can
access fonts realbasic applications cannot.

Because there are a lot of different ways to ask the system about
fonts -- I know, you'd think such a simple thing would be well-
defined and universal, but it's not. Apparently Font Book uses a
different method than REALbasic.
