Of course, there are some new features in RB 2005 and 2006 (like the HTMLviewer) that are not supported in Classic. You will just have to plan around that sort of issue.

My current app runs in Classic, but when I release the next major upgrade, I plan to drop the Classic version (though the previous version will continue to work for any of my Classic users).

It really depends on your audience, and how much effort you have to use to support each version. For instance, I don't have a Linux version yet, because I don't have a test platform available.

Personally, I think that OS 9 support is a legitimate consideration (even if not used) through to May 2007, because Apple did the "death of Mac OS 9" show in May 2002 at WWDC. But that's just me.
