OK, this isn't a good idea, since there may be two different files
with the same AbsolutePath on the Mac. But ShellPath will work
reliably for this.

So filename is the whole path...
Well, as noted before, you should ask whotever wrote PDFLib what the
proper argument for this function is. Whatever PDFLib requires,
that's what you must supply. If that's an AbsolutePath, then it's
the PDFLib author's fault that your app won't work reliably on the
Mac if there are two volumes mounted with the same name.
