The suggested approach doesn't seem to address the problem. Window2 just doesn't seem to be active somehow. For troubleshooting, I've simplified
Window2 down to this:

Pushbutton1
Action code

Pushbutton1.caption="!"

So, there's not even any reference to Window1. As before, the Action code
for a pushbutton in Window1 (a fullscreen window) is:

Window2.Show

I click, Window2 shows, but clicking on the Window2 pushbutton yields only
the error chime. The Close button on Window2 does work, though.

In your Forum post, you indicate that Window1 is a fullscreen plainbox and Window2 is a document window. I just did a simple project based on all the info that you have provided so far and ran it on OS10 and Windows XP and it runs perfectly, buttons on Window2 are active just as expected.

What do you suppose is causing the 'clunk?' That sounds like a modal window instance perhaps hidden behind your fullscreen plain box which is hogging the focus.

In any event, something else is going on in your project.
