Gosh I just HATE the incredibly stupid idea of file extensions.
Extensions are so ... so .... DOS :)
Extensions are 'Cross-platform', MacType is not.
Extensions are not Mac like either
Maybe 2 file types is what you need (as I suggested earlier)
If you want your app to be "Mac like" then you need to worry about
how to do this right on a Mac.
If you don't care to do it right then make it work how you want.
It will bother some folks who happen to like the MacType way things
work, and you'll get what ever feedback they happen to send you.
The suggestions that have been made are simply a n effort to help you
do it right n all platforms, which I'd assume you want.
