Extensions are not Mac like either
Maybe 2 file types is what you need (as I suggested earlier)
If you want your app to be "Mac like" then you need to worry about how to do this right on a Mac.

YES, and please, please think, what do you think the user say when he click on an menu item 'Import Text from Word XML' and he get an Dialogbox that shows .txt .html .xml .xhtml .c .pas .utx .bas and so on...

Even old Mac user send me an bug report!! Thats it!
And I should explain to them, that it is fixed in next version, because i should buy Christians plugin

If you don't care to do it right then make it work how you want.

I care, and some refuse understand.

It will bother some folks who happen to like the MacType way things work, and you'll get what ever feedback they happen to send you.

Like MacType or Not, how could they say that or those? Then the have to see the problems before the saying something.

The suggestions that have been made are simply a n effort to help you do it right n all platforms, which I'd assume you want.

My app is not cross platform, Mac only, but i would like it to work: simple, fast and reduce the mistake that the user could do.
Time is money for my users.
