My guess is a whole lot of us find it annoying but we're all too lazy to go file a bug report whenever we hit the problem. I do mostly Java these days and I can't stand IDEs written in Java because they don't have support for setting the search string, so I use Xcode the majority of the time. In REALbasic I've always found the editor clunky for several reasons (no set search string, search in file window does not remember selections, drag and drop is different, etc), even though it hasn't prevented me from getting used to it. Basically, all this to say I'm really glad someone filed a bug report finally against this! :) Steve P.S. The TextMate editor, a new kid on the block, got the set search string feature only a few months ago when users demanded it. The author didn't know this existed. It's especially important since it works across applications on Mac OS X, which is a boon. -- Steve Roy <http://homepage.mac.com/sroy> _______________________________________________ Unsubscribe or switch delivery mode: <http://www.realsoftware.com/support/listmanager/> Search the archives of this list here: <http://support.realsoftware.com/listarchives/lists.html>
