All that said what would YOU like to see REAL do to reach out to
this community ?
In order to 'reach out' in a credible way, RS should start by
implementing some core features and fixing some long standing bugs
that engineering/scientific programmers would appreciate. Expansion
of the integer data type was a step in the right direction. Here
are some fairly routine items lacking in Rb that RS could implement
in supporting engineering/scientific activity, at least bringing Rb
into parity with VB6 in this regard. I'm sure there are other items
that should be included:
OK.
All worthwhile BUT those are things that many of the communities that
RB serves can find value in.
Some are soluble in a module for the short term (values for Pi, e, etc)
I think everyone has their own set of modules hacks and workarounds
that populate projects and this would be no different
Some are issues ONLY REAL can solve (display of doubles in the IDE)
Bug reports and votes are what get noticed
