You can have an RB program dump the data into worksheet
That's what I do already with RB by creating a CSV (or tab delimited
I can't remember which) file named *.xls. The user opens the file
(which opens it as a worksheet), selects all and pastes data onto a
DataSheet in a template workbook and does as Save As.
In the template workbook a ReportSheet uses formulas to put the data
from the DataSheet into the right places. Although kludgy that
approach supports more sophisticated formating (as well as graphing)
than your classes (which i looked at after I had created several such
solutions)...
The approach I'm taking does not work for everything though and n
some cases only a solution like your classes would work. Ideally I
would rather not involve Excel at all though. But that would mean
having to output PDF's for electronic report distribution, or having
to scan printed reports into PDF's.
As to graphing , I agree with John that it all needs to be done with
vector graphics for the reasons he stated and came to that conclusion
a couple of years ago. I have been thinking about it for a long time
and hope to be able to get to that in a few months. IIRC your
graphing stuff was raster.
