Thanks, it appears that this resides in an invisible folder. On
Windows there is a preference that allows for all invisible items to
show up, and on Linux they are simply annotated with I believe a
period. What is the OSX way of viewing these kinds of files (besides
explicitly knowing the name of the file or folder).
(this is my last OT question. I don't mean to be rude and hijack
this thread but this is really bugging me and I can't seem to find an
answer)

go to folder /tmp in the finder
Or for the new OSX user,
In the Finder under Go in the MenuBar, select Go To Folder (or
Shift-Command-G) and type "/tmp" (without the quotes of course).
You'll see a folder named 501. Select that and you'll find the
TemporaryItems folder that even you can use in Rb.
