If method-call inlining were added to RB's compiler, it would be
an automatic optimization, not an explicit language statement.
Perfect! That would give us the speed we need and still support
older versions of REALbasic.
Sounds good at the compiler level, but I'd still like to see pre-
compiler macros in addition to auto-inlining. Sometimes you want to
know something's inlined, and not just hope the compiler will figure
it out. Seems macros would be easier to implement too - an
industrious soul could conceivably hack together a couple IDE scripts
to pre-and-un-process a project manually as needed - bit of a PITA
but might be useful in the interim.
