To copy a file, you can also try:

an AppleEvent to the "Finder" (The Finder must be running, which is
almost the case; better than an AppleScript since scripts in RB do
not accept folderitems):

This was perfect, works great; the only drawback is that I get a Copy dialog, but then again that's OK, maybe even desirable. Thank you VERY MUCH!
