Hello list -

Simple question: I have a TIFF file (RGB, 1200dpi, about 90K) that
opens just fine into Preview, but an application built using RB2006r4
can't read it; it takes a long time, and then displays a blank
vertical rectangle.

Maybe width/height is too big?

Unlikely. After I save the TIFF without any compression, RB can read it just fine. GraphicConverter reports the following:

Size: 2520x582
Resolution: 1200x1200
Colors: 16.7 mill. Colors (RGB, 32 Bit)
Memory: 5.6 MB
File format: TIFF (R), ZIP/Striped(1)/Non Planar
File length: 94.6KB
Compression: 1:60
Req. Time: .1s

By the way RB is using QuickTime and Preview uses Quartz.

Hmm. The Finder information window for this file does show the file correctly; doesn't that use QuickTime?

PS: Have you tried using a plugin like my TiffPictureMBS class?

I will, momentarily.
