I've been seeing some inconsistency as far as what gets added to the text in an EditField in Windows and what I believed was supposed to be used. By inspecting the ASCII values of the Editfield contents, it appears my RB app is using only a Chr(13) to add vertical space, whereas I thought it was supposed to be Chr(13) + Chr(10). This matters because I'm saving text runs, and things get screwed up if there are Return characters sandwiched in. Plus, I'm displaying certain things on screen in some cases depending on the contents of the current text selection. So I'm wondering if you can shed any light on what's going on.
This is with RB 2006R3, and I'm running it in Windows XP via Parallels. On 12/4/06, [EMAIL PROTECTED] <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
Part of the confusion here may be that Windows is a bit inconsistent about what should be used for line endings. Most controls (apart from the edit field) use one thing, while files use another. But TextOutputStream defaults to the correct thing, so if you use WriteLine to write a line, it should be followed by the right line ending for a file.
