Actually, thinking about this, if such an API were designed accordingly, it could become something that we could also optionally even incorporate into OUR apps to allow OUR customers or 3rd pty add-on vendors to customise OUR apps via plugins, for example to add extra menu items and functionality.
Not a common requirement I know, but there we go.. Up for grabs...
