Agreed.

eSellerate does not force you, as a developer, to create a new license when
a customer installs your software on a new piece of hardware. It is up to
you what parts of their plug-ins you use and how. They do offer an
activation mechanism which may be bound to the computer you use it on, I
have never used it though (because I hate activating software).

eSellerate offers serial number generation and checking, and a lot more,
depending on how far you want to go, and they have proven to be very
reliable. Their customer support is outstanding, and their fees not small
but acceptable for the work they take out of your hands (so that you can
develop core features, not payment systems).

Please be careful before sending every eSellerate using developer out of
your door. They might just be the ones creating the best tools ;-)

Good luck overcoming your bad feelings about them, I can not disagree more.
