Sounds like you both need to spend more time in the Pacific Northwest of the US. The various micro- and home-brews around Portland and Seattle are some of the finest in the world. (This is, after all, where the Cascade Hop comes from... and you can't beat a good Cascade Hop. Except maybe Ringwood. The Australians and their Ringwood make me a happy boy. In fact I use both in my most recent brew.)
