He insisted on it when I asked, I think that was on the forums. The reason is not just have been to get the Windows contextual menu key - he pointed out something about the timing that we Mac users forget: > You would do this in the > MouseDown event, when IsContextualClick is True. On Windows, the contextual menu is supposed to appear on the MouseUp of a right-click, not on the MouseDown. Bottom line is that RS have added to the framework an event which is recommended for multiple reasons, is by far the easiest way to capture the contextual menu key and is being pushed very heavily by their informal support. I'd say that's a fairly strong argument as to why the bug needs a high priority.
