I don't think this is a universal truth. For example, I tend to move  
my development into the next version during the beta period. In fact,  
with 2007R2, I did just that with the app I develop for my day job  
and had great success. Maybe I'm just lucky, but I've yet to be  
bitten by this.

I agree here. In a busy week, I sometimes find myself replacing my RB  
icon in the dock without having launched the one it's replacing.
