From: "Sobczak, Dan" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: RMBatch command line/file access problems I am using RealProducerG2's RMBatch command line function to encode my video automatically at specified time periods throughout the day (4 times a day at 12p, 5p, 6p and 10p), on a Win98 PC (RMBatch, the FTP client are the only apps running on the PC). Each timed recording lasts for 30 minutes. Then, 3 minutes AFTER each .RM file has been created, I have a script in WSFTP-PRO that sends my .RM file to my RealServer. Here's my problem: Occasionally, for no apparent reason, when WSFTP tries to access the new .RM that was just created to FTP to my server, I get the following error, as taken from my FTP log file: sending 5p.rm as 5p.rm (1 of 1) TYPE I 200 Type set to I. PORT <my port address here> 200 PORT command successful. STOR 5p.rm 550 5p.rm: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. This does NOT happen every time an RM file is created, however... For some reason, Win98 and/or RMBatch still has its hands all over the .RM file and won't allow any other process (my FTP client) to access that file. Thus the 550 FTP error that gets thrown. I've gone round and round trying to eliminate all non-essential software that could be using this file, with the exeption of RMBatch, WSFTP, and Win98. Does anyone have any idea why this would be happening? It's one of those things that only happens sometimes. My machine can go for 3 weeks and encode and upload the .RM files fine -- then every once in a while, the FTP client errors out with this permission problem. It doesn't matter how long I make the FTP client wait to upload the .RM file. I'll still get a 550 error thrown at me... Could RMBatch still be holding onto an .RM file after it's created??
