Your problem is you are trying to get a large video size at 320x240 - just
doesn't work with your hardware. You need to experiment with 176x144 or
just crop your file. I record directly to realmedia and even at 28.8 modem
speeds the information is there. Also you lighting is too limited or at
least you should "brighten" the capture from your tape. also 10fps is about
your maximum or sorry even less.

this file is about 20 megs and lasts 2 hours encoded with version 5.0 of
realencoder from 2 digital cameras through a s-video mixer to computer
