I don't know about the version 7 player, but the G2 player does not seem =
to shift up to the maximum setting. It will go higher than the normal =
bandwidth setting but when I tried my player set on a 28.8K connection =
speed and viewing a program that was encoded G2, all rates, it only =
shifted up a couple of times and peaked at a rate under 100K - even though =
lots of bandwidth was available (viewing program over our intranet).

You cannot set a player's preferences via a RAM file.

However, as long as the player does not have their maximum bandwidth =
capped
at some value this should not be a problem. If someone's normal bandwidth
is 56k but the maximum bandwidth is T3 then their player will stream-switch=

up to your higher-bandwidth presentation as long as that bandwidth is
currently available.

You do not need to force the user to do this-- it is automatic.

However, if their maximum bandwidth is set to 56k, then they will not
up-switch.
