There is no reason that the equipment you have should not be producing
excellent audio. Though having a portable DAT player is always an excellent
addition to any field recording and will produce wonderful audio, you
should be getting excellent results with what you have already. It's
basically what we use in the field.

What do you mean by 'not clean enough?' What sort of audio are you trying
to record?
