i dont think the server is sending an end of session ANNOUNCE. real
does not use RTP/RTCP for realmedia files. seems to me then that the
end of stream is singalled implicitly (using the smpte time as you
mention above or some count or eof indicator) or explicitly within
the UDP data stream. but UDP implies this information could get lost.
what then? the reason i ask is that during periods of bad network
loss my player never stops, even though the stream ends... it seems
like it is waiting for some end of stream signal that gets lost in
the network and doesnt get recovered. i first thought it had
something to do with my content, but i noticed that the player does
stop when the bandwidth graph (in the player) indicates a "healthy"
stream.
