From: "Chris Knipe" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Live audio broadcasts... (again, hopefully final opst about this) Hi all ... I would firstly like to thank everyone for their support to me in regards of the webcam / realaudio via SMIL combination. It will be put to the test very shortly in the next few weeks to come. I have decided to post another email to this list, not so much as to get support to an specific problem, but rather to get feedback from those who have allready worked and experianced problems with live broadcasting. The idea is simple, put a mic in a club, record the audio from the club? or audio from an line output source on the amp?, and broadcast that to the nation... I was just wondering what you people might suggest as far as the actual recording goes... ie: record outside sources (audio + the sounds in the club), or inside (directly from say a line output from one of their amplifiers). Futhermore, as far as mics, and webcams go, I am baffled as to what equipment to install int he club, I never worked with webcams before, and therefor would especially appreciate feedback on that side of things. Destortion, and noise would also be big factors here, seeing that we would like to have the best possible quality of audio, at the lowest possible rate. The streams would more than likely be at 22KHz Mono, and this would allready "destort" the signals tremendiously. How can I make sure that the actual recording of the audio is at the top most level, and that the audio would have as little as possible noise from the mic, to where it gets published to the real audio servers? I have pending meetings with the club to finalize the installations of these real audio streams, including webcams, and for those who are interested to see the outcome, have a look on http://www.fatboys.co.za in the next month or two to come. We hope to be fully live for their new years party at the end of this month. Thank you all for your support, it is much appreciated!
