If I was going to do it properly, I would take a direct feed from the mixing
console, then put it through a processor, such as the Orban Optimod 6200.
This would ensure you have the hotest signal to go to air. www.orban.com
It would be good if this could be a separate feed to FOH (maybe an effects
send) with a mic out front to provide crowd ambience.
