You can also do this manually and without SMIL (compatibility with 5.0)
by creating your own event file and using rmeditor to add it to your rm
file. We use this feature quite regularly.
Here's an example:
u 00:00:00 00:00:34 &&main&&slides/01_Intro1.htm
u 00:00:35 00:00:39 &&main&&slides/02_Intro2.htm
u 00:00:39 00:00:46 &&main&&slides/03_Intro3.htm
u 00:00:46 00:00:50 &&main&&slides/04_Intro4.htm
u 00:00:50 00:00:55 &&main&&slides/05_Intro5.htm
That's hours:minutes:seconds for start and stop, btw.
u stands for url, there are other event types for copyright and whatnot.
the &&main&& means to target a frame called main..
You might want to specify a full url after &&main&& rather than a
relative like above. I've heard relative paths can cause problems in
some browsers. It seems to work with the latest versions IE and
netscape on win9x/NT, though.
You add this to the rm file with rmeditor.exe (-e I think)
Obviously, the problem with it is that it becomes part of the stream
itself. So if you want to use it without the synced slides, you have to
keep two copies of the video.
