I think you can do this already with existing tech.
You can do this by embedding the real player in
the web page and use a java chat program in the page.
I think some sites have free chat programs to download
and use. No need for Real to include chat features in
Real Server/Player, it would only just add more
overhead (ie bandwidth, processing, etc) to the apps,
besides both apps are more than big enuff as it is ;-)
