Matt...without a doubt the BEST way to do this is to NOT do it in
RealProducer, but rather have an audio/video mixer of some sort (even just
a routing panel) with one output going into the computer RealProducer is
running on. Then let the mixer/router do all the switching still-video,
music, live show, etc etc etc.
Granted, this is not necessarily the cheapest, and (depending on your view
of studio construction and usage) also not necessarily the simplest way.
But it's definitely the most professional and
least-likely-to-blow-up-in-your-face way.
That being said, I dunno if there's a special function of RealProducer
that'll do the trick for you (I don't use RealProducer much) but somebody
else on the list probably does.

playing, and even a still video image showing a few minutes before the show
starts. How can I achive this using real producer? Anyone?
