Another way to do this is to have something playing in the CD player and
then turn that off just before your show and use the Windows
Volume/Recording control to mute the CD and unmute the line-in.
Essentially the same idea but you don't have to use a seprate device to
play music. In any event, using a mixer is always a good idea since it
will improve the quality of the audio.
