I have found there are some inventry issues ( problems caching and retreiving inventry ) and map issues (images dont show up, and cant teleport out of the local region) no problems while in external regions
No, Im not using any realXtend server Features ----- Original Message ----- From: Jani Pirkola To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, March 16, 2009 5:43 AM Subject: [realXtend] Re: running rex 0.4 behind Network adress translation (NAT) I meant; are you using realXtend server features? 2009/3/15 Peter Tavinor <[email protected]> ->>> If I had router that supports using external ip from lan, then I should be ok anyway? yes that is correct. ->>>If you have your realxtend region connected to osgrid, can you use 3D meshes, No, only sculpted prims ->>>how is osgrid rendered, and avatars? not sure what you mean by this ----- Original Message ----- From: Jani Pirkola To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, March 16, 2009 4:52 AM Subject: [realXtend] Re: running rex 0.4 behind Network adress translation (NAT) Peter, your patch sounds truly interesting. Some questions: - If I had router that supports using external ip from lan, then I should be ok anyway? (I know many people don't have such a router) - If you have your realxtend region connected to osgrid, can you use 3D meshes, and how is osgrid rendered, and avatars? Jani 2009/3/15 Gustavo Alberto Navarro Bilbao <[email protected]> In spanish we say" no importa la espera si vale la pena" some like "doesn't matter how long is the is worth what you get" (somebody says: "Does not matter if the woman waiting is very pretty"). The NAT is really a problem. Just today I configured en modrex service in our public server, for test using the realxtend public identification (http://users.realxtend.net/rexauth/Register.aspx) but I can't get than it works in my PC because the NAT. The other limitation is the size of the meshes than we can upload, because the bandwidht and memory limitations. I get uplad the Red Gate than you can see but not the palace. A pity because if I would get than my local modrex was accesible outside, with the link-region option I could connect the modrex from the server with the mine, and could move meshes between both. Waiting for your patch and thanks for your work. 2009/3/15 Peter Tavinor <[email protected]>: > > I have now successfully connected to a region (attached to osgrid) running > on my pc , > so my patch does work, in grid mode, but appears to have inventry issues > with standalone mode. > sorry the test took so long, but when i went to do it first osgrid was down > for maintanance > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Gustavo Alberto Navarro Bilbao" <[email protected]> > To: <[email protected]> > Sent: Tuesday, March 10, 2009 11:07 AM > Subject: [realXtend] Re: running rex 0.4 behind Network adress translation > (NAT) > > > > I don't know if this can help, but in our hired host, changing in > authentication\HttpSettings.xml the adress to the private IP´s, we can > get be identificated.
