HI Tia I dont work for RealXtend but I can answer your question from developmental experiance . At this point , Naali ( the new viewer) and Taiga ( the new server ) are in very early stages of development . Hence , the 0.0.1 release status . Many features are as of yet unimplemented . We have to consider these releases as very early test drives of what is to come , rather than full featured releases .
Naali is being developed as a viewer that can access many different types of virtual worlds . Ranging from OsGrid type grids which are much like SL , all the way to more exotic worlds which are very much unlike SL . Therefore , we can logically assume that in world Prim building ( sl type building) will be a part of the feature set once everything is up and running . 3d Modelling will also be supported since that is part of Realxtend . At this point we have to be excited at what is to come and understand that this is not a Production release at this point . I would give the team 4-6 months in order to get this closer to a working production release since they are implementing a massive amount of new features . In the meantime we need to rally around them in any way that we can as they pull us ahead into the exciting future that lies ahead of us in Virtual Reality . If we see a feature that isn't quite working we have to assume its because this is super early alpha code . Please don't get frustrated at this point , or you could be confounded for months until the Designers get closer to completing there work . All we can really do at this very early stage is watch and wait until the time comes when this becomes more full featured and production ready I hope that this may help you in some way Tara -- http://groups.google.com/group/realxtend http://www.realxtend.org
