New:
   Blender "Speaker" object gets translated to EC_Sound
     ( note you have to manually copy your sound file to your asset
directory, if you are previewing thats: /tmp/rex )
   Shadows and Draw Distance:
     new option under Properties>Object>Object+
        "cast shadows"
        "use draw distance"
        "draw distance"

I tested shadows with the shader rex/DiffShadow and it works fine,
create a Sun light to make sure there is a light source to cast
shadows from.  When setting up the shader do not add textures to the
slots named: shadow*
