Steak 'N Gravy
(crockpot)
1 lb. round steak, trimmed
1 T. vegetable oil
1 1/2 C. water
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 tsp. ground cumin
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 T. flour
1/4 C. cold water
hot cooked rice or mashed potatoes
Cut beef into bite-sized pieces; brown in oil in a skillet. Transfer to
a slow cooker. Cover with water; add tomato sauce and seasonings. Cover
and cook on low for 8 hours, or high for 4 hours, or until meat is
tender. In a small bowl, combine flour and cold water to make a paste;
stir into liquid in slow cooker. Cover and cook on high 30 minutes
longer or until gravy is thickened. Serve over rice or potatoes. Makes 4
servings.
