Pecan Sandies (Cookie Mix)
Butter, maple flavor and pecans mix with
time-saving cookie mix to make a classic
holiday cookie.

Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
3/4 cup finely chopped toasted pecans
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon maple flavor
1/4 cup sugar
Coarse white sparkling sugar, if desired
How-To
Toast nuts in shallow pan in 350ºF oven
about 5 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally,
until golden brown.
Success
To soften butter, microwave unwrapped
butter in glass bowl or measuring cup
uncovered on High 10 to 20 seconds.

Crust
1 Betty Crocker® sugar cookie mix
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 egg
Filling
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons 2. In large bowl, stir
all Crust ingredients until soft dough
forms. Press dough in bottom of pan
using floured fingers. Bake 20 minutes.
3. Meanwhile, in medium bowl, stir all
Pecan Filling ingredients until well
blended. Pour over hot crust.
4. Bake 15 minutes or until center is set.
Cool completely, about 2 hours. For bars,
cut into 9 rows by 4 rows. Store covered
in refrigerator.
High Altitude (3500-6500 ft): In step 4,
bake 20 minutes.
