Krauss, Bentley Schedule Late Night TV

Alison Krauss and Dierks Bentley have scheduled upcoming late-night TV
appearances. Krauss and John Waite will perform "Missing You" on The Tonight
Show
With Jay Leno on Feb. 5. The duet is a remake of Waite's 1984 pop hit. In
addition, Bentley will perform "Prodigal Son's Prayer" with the bluegrass
band,
the Grascals, on The Late, Late Show With Craig Ferguson on Feb. 12. The
song is included on Bentley's latest album, Long Trip Alone.

Singer-Songwriter Jeffrey Steele's Son Killed

Singer-songwriter Jeffrey Steele's 13-year-old son was killed Sunday (Jan.
28) in Franklin, Tenn., when the youth lost control of an all-terrain
vehicle
he was driving. Police said Alex Levasseur was thrown from the vehicle while
attempting to steer through a curve in the road. Steele's songwriting
credits
include Montgomery Gentry's "My Town," Tim McGraw's "The Cowboy in Me,"
Diamond Rio's "Unbelievable," Faith Hill's "When the Lights Go Down," Trace
Adkins'
"Chrome," LeAnn Rimes' "Big Deal" and Steve Holy's "Brand New Girlfriend"
and Rascal Flatts' "My Wish," "These Days" and "What Hurts the Most."

More Miss America Preliminary Winners Named

Additional winners of Miss America preliminary competitions were announced
over the weekend. Miss California Jacquelynne Fontaine was named Saturday
night's
(Jan. 27) talent winner for her operatic vocal performance to "Vissi d'arte"
from Tosca. Miss Hawaii Pilialoha Gaison was named Friday night's (Jan. 26)
winner for her Tahitian dance to "Te Vaka." Both women received a $2,000
scholarship. In addition, Miss Pennsylvania Emily Wills won Saturday night's
lifestyle
and fitness in swimsuit competition in a black-and-white striped Venus
swimsuit with red piping. Miss Nebraska Molly McGrath won Friday night's
competition
in a magenta Venus swimsuit. Both women received a $1,000 scholarship. To
recognize community service, Miss Rhode Island Allison Rogers, Miss Arizona
Hilary
Griffith and Miss Alabama Melinda Toole were recognized with the Quality of
Life Award from the Miss America organization. The 2007 Miss America Pageant
airs Monday night (Jan. 29) on CMT.

Crystal Gayle's Tour Bus Recovered

Crystal Gayle's tour bus was recovered late Friday night (Jan. 26) after the
escaped felon accused of stealing it was spotted dropping off a prostitute
in Daytona Beach, Fla. Christopher Daniel Gay, who had been on the loose
since Jan. 21, was arrested without incident when he coincidentally entered
an
undercover prostitution sting in the area. As previously reported, Gay had
escaped authorities in South Carolina while being transferred between
states.
While on the lam, he had stolen a truck in Atlanta and a tractor-trailer in
Manchester, Tenn., as well as Gayle's Prevost tour bus from a garage near
Nashville.
