Chocolate Cake
2/3 c. butter or margarine, softened
1-3/4 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. unsweetened cocoa
1 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1-1/2 c. butter milk or sour milk
Fudge Frosting
Cake: Preheat oven to dg350. Grease and flour 2 round pans.
In large mixer bowl combine butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Beat
until mixture is light and fluffy.
In medium bowl, combine flour, cocoa, flour, baking powder, baking
soda and salt. Add alternately with milk to creamed mixture, beating
until just smooth. Pour into prepared pans.
Bake 30-35 minutes or until tests clean. Cool 10 minutes, remove from
pans. Cool completely. Frost with Fudge Frosting.
Note: To sour milk use 1-1/2 tablespoons vinegar plus enough milk to
equal 1-1/2 cups.
