Hi, Steve, Thanks for the wonderful tip! I can recall in the fifties when we had our apartment painted with that awful smelling oil based paint, the smell would linger for days and days, and if you stayed around it too long, you'd get a terrific headache! My grandma would take a pail of water and let it stand on the floor near one of the radiators, and take onions and cut them in half, and put them into the pails of water, and voila! The smell would vanish after a short period of time. I was about four then, and heard family talk of this home remedy, but yours is loads easier, but wanted to share with the list a piece of nostalgia from the fifties.
