Meatball Sub Casserole

1/3 cup chopped green onions, to taste
1/4 cup seasoned bread cumbs
3 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
1 lb ground beef
1 loaf Italian bread, cut into 1" slices
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup REGULAR mayonnaise
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/4 tsp pepper
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
28 oz jar spaghetti sauce
1 cup water
2 cloves garlic, minced

Preheat oven to 400. In a bowl combine, onions, bread crums, and
Parmesan cheese, add beef and mix well. Shape into 1" balls; place on
a rack in a shallow baking pan, bake for 15-20 min or until no longer
pink. Reduce temperature to 350. Arrange bread in a single layer in an
ungreased 9x13x2" baking dish. (Not all of the bread may be used.)
Combine cream cheese, mayo, Italian seasoning, and pepper; spread over
the bread, and sprinkle with 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese. Combine sauce,
water, and garlic; add meatballs and pour over cheese mixture;
sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese. Bake, uncovered, at 350 for
30 min or until heat through. Serves 8.
