NEWS IN BRIEF Willie Nelson Cancels Four Concerts Thu. September 13.2007 5:59 PM EDT
Willie Nelson has canceled at least four tour dates scheduled later this month. Concert promoters say Nelson's representatives have cited exhaustion as the reason for the cancellations. They include concerts on Sept. 21 in Lake Ozark, Mo., and Sept. 22 in LaSalle, Ill. Also canceled are shows on Sept. 25 in Sioux City, Iowa, and Sept. 26 in Rapid City, S.D. All four performances were originally scheduled in July but were rescheduled because of Nelson's exhaustion. The 74-year-old Country Music Hall of Fame member performed Sunday (Sept. 9) at the Farm Aid concert in New York City. It was announced last week that Nelson has accepted a role in Swing Vote, a film currently in production featuring Kevin Costner, Kelsey Grammer, Dennis Hopper, Nathan Lane, Stanley Tucci, George Lopez, Richard Petty and others. September 13.2007 1:30 PM EDT Tim McGraw and Brad Paisley will be among those paying tribute to Hank Williams Jr. during CMT Giants, a two-hour special set to air on Nov. 17. Kid Rock, Gretchen Wilson, Lynyrd Skynyrd and blues legend Buddy Guy will also perform at the taping taking place Oct. 25 at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles. Jimmy Kimmel and Terry Bradshaw will serve as presenters, and more performers will be announced at a later date. Tickets go on sale via Ticketmaster on Sept. 22. She'll perform duets with Kelly Clarkson and Justin Timberlake from her new CD, Reba Duets, which will be released Tuesday (Sept. 18). McEntire's other TV appearances include Good Morning America and The View on Sept. 20 and The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on Sept. 25. Reba Duets also includes collaborations with LeAnn Rimes, Ronnie Dunn, Rascal Flatts, Trisha Yearwood, Carole King, Kenny Chesney, Vince Gill, Faith Hill and Don Henley.
