New England Corn Chowder
Ingredients:
1/4 cupall purpose flour1/2 cupWater1/4 tspDried whole basil leaves1 3/4
cupChicken bouillon/broth, 99% fat free2 cupHalf and half1 1/2 cupFrozen
extra sweet plain corn1 cupFresh carrots, chopped1/4 cupButter, salted8
oz
Cured Canadian bacon, unheated, 6 oz package

Directions:
1. Melt butter in large saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour, basil,
salt, white pepper, chicken broth and water. Cook and stir until mixture
thickens and boils.
2. Stir in potatoes, carrots and onions. Bring to a boil; simmer 5-10
minutes or until vegetables are crisp-tender. Stir in corn,
Canadian-style bacon and half and half. Cook until very hot but not
boiling.
