Unfortunately the few bad apples spoil it for the rest and paint a bad
picture. I don't think you can say 'many of them' are corrupt, it's more
like some of them considering the ratio against number of officers.
We have over 7,000 police officers in the QPS and I am 99.9% positive that
the percentage of corruption and racism is a lot smaller than you would
think.
I agree, these people who are corrupt and racist should not be allowed in
the Service. They do not belong there and should be booted out. I believe in
looking after one another in this sort of job but I would NEVER protect a
guilty police officer. My father was a very honest cop and if there was
anything I learned from him was that these disgusting people who choose to
disobey their own laws do not belong. Sorry, they do belong - in jail!
That's why a certain former commissioner ended up where he did!!
Unfortunately i was a bit too young to know all the details but still, if
leading by example is the way then this certain ex-commisioner was way off
in the worng direction.

I know a lot of them Karen with my dealings with them on a professional
level and my personal associations with them.
There are many good coppers. But many of them are corrupt, racist, and
stand-over men (and women) who should have no part in any service that
upholds the law. Many are also criminals in their own right, that's why we
seem to have had so many inquiries into the various police services around
Australia.
And the ones who are good and honest and incorruptible are often forced to
enter into the 'code' that the worse elements create. That is really a
pity.
I have seen many an honest man leave in disgust.
