That is the paradox. Each one of the things that you mention is productive,
in its own right. But the cumulative effect could be to significantly
disrupt the Olympics, or at least the enjoyment of the Olympics, by a
significant percentage of the country. If that happens then it will help to
solidify the views of those who are antagonistic to reconciliation and
associated issues. It is not likely to actually convert anyone, so the risk
of all these actions is on the downside.
Bringing the international media into it also increases the risk of
significant slabs of the population being alienated, or at least confirmed
more strongly in their opinions.
Added to that there is the risk of events happening in line with Charles
Parkins "Burn Baby Burn" comments.
So the point of my comment was to say "Here is a suggestion (I had missed
Rod's earlier post), but I am not sure about the whole issue."
