Chris, the mac installer works the same as the windows installer now, except for some config changes and maybe I can put that also in there. The mac installer also gives people the option if they want to exclude the source and flash files, forces them to agree with the red5 license agreement, and it also works as an updater. The packager uses version numbers and the next release of the red5 installer will automatically update your existing red5 installation. Anybody that installed something on a mac before should be familiar with this type of installer, it's apple's default packager. And it's also possible to make the text in the installer multi-language.. And to me it just looks and works more professional..
Adam, that red5 dock icon is very cool, and the solution with the .app/shell script is much better. I'll include that instead of the current Applescript.
