My 2 cents :)
The scope of red5 features we use and I envision will use in the near future
is best described by oflaDemo app,
i.e. basic FLV streaming, some metadata passing to flashapp, so in terms of
features red5 is a perfect match for us.
However the feature it lacked was it could not be embedded and run as part
of another java application and required too many config files,
we are trying to ship our application as a single jar file so that
deployment is not an issue (java -server -jar myapp.jar),
what I would like to see in the future is ability to run red5 in the same
way.
E.g. see how jetty is embedded into red5 and take a look at standalone jetty
(no j2ee super-features) startup:
single jar, basic xml config, if you want to just run it use xml config, if
you want to embed it - no problem,
instantiate jetty and pass config as java classes (which means store your
config wherever you want not just xml file)

Executive summary :)
- features in terms of streaming and protocol support are ok
- simplify integration
- simplify configuration
- more documentation

Hi all,
As was discussed in the thread "red5-minimal, small embeddable red5", I'd
like to post this thread here to collect different usage models of Red5. If
you used Red5, are using Red5, would like to use Red5 or just insterested in
Red5, please reply to this post to describe what usage scenario you are
facing and what feature set you want from Red5. You could also describe how
you are using Red5 right now and what improvement you need from Red5.

I will make a summary after enough opinions have been collected. Thanks a
lot. :-)
