This has been my big objection regarding Red5 development roadmap mangement. The team - while amazing at what has been accomplished - has been too eager to move forward into new territories without hitting a home run on 0.3 roadmap core features.
Instead of solidifying the streaming/VOD code (bandwidth detection and bitrate peeling anyone?) along with basic stability, it has branched into AMF/Remoting/Data Services/App Server/Ajax/SPring/Scrping laguage support fracture of goals. Not trying to be negative, but missing on RMTPS support should have froze the codebase at 0.4 until these "Core" features were locked down.
