Tricky one, it really depends on the individual project requirements and the expected size of the project (navigation, pages, ...).
Pros: - Standard approach by RedDot to set up a navigation - Easy to use dialogue for editing the navigation tree (accessible from SmartEdit and SmartTree) Cons: - Feature aims at RedDot admins/poweruser. NOT suitable for use-case "each editor shall be able to edit navigation in his/her own website navigation area without influencing other areas" - Page authorizations do not apply in navigation manager: Everyone with access is able to edit everything (whole website navigation) - Technically separated from the CMS. Can resolve in caching issues (SmartTree structure is not reflected by navigation manager properly). >From time to time navigation manager cache needs to updated manually by navigation manager users. I hope this helps.
